and creator of Short Stories Tall Tales

Stories and theatre have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. One of my earliest memories is watching my dad perform on stage in The Magic Flute when I was five years old. I was captivated not only by the performance, but by the world behind it; the stage door, dressing rooms, scenery and backstage magic that made it all possible.

That sense of wonder stayed with me.

After training at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and working professionally as an actor and theatre practitioner, I became a parent myself. As I explored theatre, story times and baby groups with my daughter, I found myself imagining something different: an experience where children didn't simply watch a story, but stepped inside it.

​

In 2017, that idea became Short Stories Tall Tales.

​

Today, my original stories and imaginative adaptations of classic tales combine live performance, music, role-play, props and participation to create interactive adventures for children aged 0–6 and their grown-ups.

​

What matters most to me is what happens after the show. Families often tell me that the stories continue at home through songs, drawings, imaginative play and new adventures of their own. For me, that's where the real magic happens.

 

My hope is that every child leaves inspired to play, imagine and create—and that every grown-up is reminded of the joy of getting lost in a story together.
